We passed our questions over to the dark side in an intresting interview with The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith edition's production manager, Jon Sieker and Eric Duncan from Aspyr. Press Here for more information about the game.
- Where you influenced by the dark side to make the game mostly about the Sith?
The dark side is very alluring...When we were developing the bonus levels for the Ultimate Sith Edition, we did indeed focus on the dark side, and what it would be like to take Vader's place by the Emperor's side. The concept is rich and leads to very interesting "what if" scenarios that play out very nicely while it anchors on iconic Star Wars story line, locations and key characters.
- What is the timeframe of the game? I thought that the console version took place long before luke skywalker saga.
The original game takes place between Episodes 3 and 4 but The Tatooine and Hoth campaigns take place during episodes 4 and 5. We wanted to explore alternate scenarios for Tatooine and Hoth based on the evil ending of The Force Unleashed.
- Can you only go down the Sith path or can you go down the Jedi path also?
In The Ultimate Sith Edition you will be able to play three bonus levels. You play the Jedi path when you play the Jedi Temple campaign because it takes place in the middle of the original game. When you play the Tatooine and Hoth campaigns you are already playing the role of a Sith.
- Will we be able to see other iconic characters not yet mentioned in the near future?
Most of the big iconic characters appeared in the trailer but there are still some iconic moments that will give our core fans goose bumps.
- Are there any new abilities that players can use?
The Bonus Levels are a part of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed so we stuck with the core powers found in the original game. The powers were fully ranked up for the Tatooine and Hoth levels because they fall after the timeline of the original game. We did add special attention to the finishing moves though. They are incredibly dark and have a very Sith feel to them.
- In addition to the new levels, how does the pc/mac version differ from the console version?
The PC and Mac versions of Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition will be the same great experience that you'll find on the console versions with all of the Force powers, action and extra content. The only major difference will be the addition of keyboard and mouse controls.
